The Friends of the Library Board met this past week; we have a few openings and thought of the YP Voice group. Our group works closely with the library and to have younger people on our board is very important. Those with children in the school district add an extra benefit to our group. This helps us to have input as to the reading programs in the schools that the library may need additional books to help support the programs.
We feel this board is a great starting point for someone who is looking for their 1st board position or 50th. We are a small group that meets monthly, on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Library on 2nd St in Oswego. September - June (July & August no meetings) Our funds are raised primarily by our membership drive; fundraisers are minimal and dependent on board approval. Our focus is to support Library programs, purchase new books, DVD's and any other support of programs that help grow our local library. If anyone is interested in applying or seeking additional information please feel free to contact one of us on the list below.
